Grandma climbed up the flight of stairs, without taking a break

As soon as I met her, I experienced warmth and positivity of an angelic person. She is a lovely 73 year old woman, who keeps quite fit with her regular yoga practice. I was blessed with a wonderful yoga session with her, where I realized that she flowed in yoga like doing a musical worship.

During a discussion after that, she told about few recent issues of health due to reaction of a medicine. I checked and treated her with acupressure for health problems. It was her first acupressure session and few points of pressure were found painful.

After the session, she was bright and happy and walked up to her son’s house on 5th storey, like always. Later that evening, she told me that she felt light and healthy after the acupressure, so much so that she did not have to take her regular stop during climbing up the stairs and could do it all in one go, quickly. She said she felt more energetic the whole day with a bright smile.

This story of flight of stairs, made me experience flying too, as my heart went gaga.

Why did God punish me?

Conversation with a 73 yr. old patient (referred as uncle below), during a holistic healing session:

Me: 'Do you pray?' (I asked, looking at the resigned / stubborn and unhappy expression of the patient).
Uncle: 'Yes', perplexed at this first question

Aunty (Uncle's wife): 'He doesn't pray now, he used to pray earlier. He is upset with Lord for his condition.'
Uncle: 'Yes, I did so much for God, but he gave me this paralysis.'
Me: 'What can anyone do for God?"
Uncle: 'I built ashrams and did so much charity work'
Me: 'We do such kindness, for our own happiness, isn't it? (a short pause) And what has God done for you? Do you realize that this body is given by God and He has full right to take it away. In fact, every single breath you take is a gift from Almighty.'
Uncle: 'I used to be so strong, you know.'
Me: 'You are still strong, you think anyone can face such problems. These are strengthening in different ways, teaching lessons, we missed learning, so far.'
Uncle: 'I have always been good. I worked at very high posts. I did a proud job with foreigners, which is difficult for any Indian. I gave jobs to others as well. Still, I am suffering'.
Me: 'When we do such work, we develop ego, hence God gives us disease. This is a punishment to help us realize that without divine support we cannot even eat our food.'
Uncle: 'Why did God punish me, that's why I am upset? I am unable to sleep for 3-4 hrs., after I go to bed and keep thinking this, all the while.'
Me: 'When you held big posts and did so much work, you also took a lot of stress, right? That stress is stored in your body. This disease happened because of that and is a way to express & release stress for your betterment and liberation. God could have given worse, isn't it, you may have died instead of just a stroke?'
Uncle: 'I would have been happier if I died instead of becoming paralyzed and face so much difficulty.'
Me: 'But God does not give difficulty alone, He sends people to help as well. Do you realize that you have been sent to this clinic and healers here, are directed by God to help you?. Your health has improved much in past few months, it could have gone worse, isn't it?'
Uncle: (gives an amazed look, while I continue to provide him acupressure)
Me: 'During my prayer, I asked God, when it is a punishment, should I help sick people? He answered 'Yes', that's why I feel like coming & treating patients, here. Did you notice that I happened to call you, though I didn't call any other patient, from my side, today. It's only because He directed me to do so, right?'
Uncle: 'I agree with you, God sends people to help, I never thought of this before, but now I can relate. My whole family could have died when my son was 2.5 yrs old. We were all drowning but some tall, dark, hefty man came from somewhere and saved us all. Now, my son is at a very high post in a large MNC, but he could have died 25 yrs ago. I never thought of this, you have enlightened me.'
Me: (Smiling) 'yes, now everyday, when you are unable to sleep, you can thank God and even if you do so every moment that you live now, you cannot express enough gratefulness, for whatever He has done for you. Please, try to remember what all good has happened in your life and realize that the credit for all your education, career, people and everything else you cherish, goes to the Almighty.'
Uncle: 'Yes, now when I am awake, lying on bed, I will definitely think in this direction. Thank you so much. I have learned something today.'
Me: 'Everyday, when you are going to sleep, please thank God for 3 things he has given you during the day. It could be for example, the support from your wife etc. Every morning when you get-up, please ask Lord to give you divine energy for three good things you will do during the day. That will also inspire God to give you more energy, for your need.'
Uncle: (looking at his paralysed body as to what can I do?)
Me: 'Many good things can be done by mind only, you don't always need a body. For example: Think of someone who has done something good for you, in the past; thank and bless him in your mind and similar such activities.'
Uncle: 'Sure, I will. Thank you so much (with folded hands)'

Uncle came back to me with hands folded in 'namaskar' mudra and smile of gratitude, on his face, before leaving the clinic, repeating the words, 'I feel enlightened, today'. As for myself, I am still feeling great and smiling with deep content, within. I believe that this realization will release the root cause of his disease (the negative thought process) and support positive physical & mental development, in permanent ways.

Million dollar smiles

The reward of being a therapist lies in relieving the patients of their pain or health issues and see them as wholesome, fit, active and happy again. The role is like that of a mother to every patient irrespective of age. A healer sees the weakness and need of the patient and tries her level best to give strength and support.

When a patient who expressed much difficulty or pain initially, feels better and smiles at the end of treatment, it is like a treat for the health care provider, who finds much happiness in that moment.

I treated a patient of stress, who came back laughing the next day , expressing gratitude and it was such a delight to see that. Another old granny, kept groaning in pain, complaining throughout for around half hour of treatment, and then suddenly smiled, blessing me for the relief. A child with tumours growing all over his body, could not help laughing innocently, when a fly was disturbing me during his treatment. It was such a precious smile.

Smiles which are surface after a long history of pain and tears, are most beautiful. Such smiles of patients, bring bliss, deep content and happiness. I call them 'Million Dollar smiles' and consider them as a component of my earnings :)

Words born from living an experience

My quotations around nature, human body, health, healing etc.:

As per Ayurveda, if there's poison in body, then milk shouldn't be given - as that acts as a carrier and spreads poison all over.
First step is to detox.
Same applies to deep-rooted, harmful negativity.

Body is but a lump of mud and water, without the divine intelligence which flows through it.

Vulnerability is the mother of Discipline.

Each wrong food, habit or thought causes loss of life energy; as the body needs to work to clear it off.

Most precious & beautiful smiles are born, when tears & pain recede :)

Five senses fail for a Divine experience, that’s why Gods don’t need a human body.

Nature never says no, it keeps cleaning & rebuilding us each time, without judgement or complain for our mistakes.

A practitioner can see much more than a patient who sees only symptoms.

Fasting heals

Why Fast?

When one is fasting, the system is relatively free from regular digestion activity. This time is utilized by the body to cleanse i.e. detoxify the body of germs, chemicals, unwanted matter, excess fat etc. Any pending healing work for sickness or repairing of damages is also prioritized and worked on by the body. Hence, regular fasting is essential for maintaining a clean and healthy body.

Good frequency of fasting?

For a healthy person fasting twice a month, once every fortnight is suitable. If a person does not feel healthy and active, all the time but experiences small pain, inflexibility or difficulty with body processes e.g. digestion etc. , (s)he needs to fast once a week, regularly.

If a disease has been diagnosed, specific fasting program may be required for a few days.
An annual fasting of around 10 days - 2 weeks continuously, might greatly help to clean the system and heal multiple health problems. This shall help rejuvenate body, mind and spirit.

How to take a health oriented fast?

It's good to plan your fast prior and decide what you would / would not eat during fasting. Choose health oriented, simple and 'satvic' foods here, and avoid all kinds of over-processed, cooked-for-taste kind of foods.
Remember the purpose of fasting is to give rest to body and gain health.

When fasting for just one day in a week or fortnight, one can do strict fasting of eating only once during the day, for example or take fruits only etc.
However, when fasting is planned for few days together, one can be flexible, while observing few restrictions.

Following recommendations are important:

1. Eat meal only once, in the day, if possible.
When hungry in-between, one may take water, fresh juices, fruits, vegetable salads or a small quantity of dry-fruits, vegetable soup, roasted makhana / peanuts  etc. Avoid adding sugar, salt, spices, as best possible. Please eat minimum quantity as per essential requirement, only when hungry.

2. Do not consume any tea/coffee and fast food. Avoid processed food, restaurant food or packaged food, candies etc. during the day. Avoid fried snacks too.
Meat and Non-veg foods are not recommended during fasting. Only consume simple, vegetarian food, for better results.

3. The meal during fasting need to be light, easy to digest and minimum quantity as needed.
Few examples are: simply cooked or boiled vegetables, curd, 'sabudana' porridge,  sweet potato halwa etc.
During fasting heavy to digest grains like wheat, rice, gram flour, lentils are advised to be restricted.
Also all spices are avoided except a few like - cumin and rock-salt.

4. While fasting, take some additional rest to reduce mental or physical work (avoid as best possible). It is recommended to relax yourself, sleep properly and do some 'pranayama', meditation, 'shav asana' etc.

5. At the end of day, you may break the fast with a small quantity of fruit or juice (something light and small quantity only). Give a gap and  then have regular meal, when hungry after at least half an hour.

Proper practice of fasting can restore health and bring many surprising, miraculous benefits. Do not miss this self treatment and allow yourself a little restriction to bring about welcome, positive changes.

Avoid consuming chemicals with food products

The most natural option is the best for health. Check list of ingredients, avoid any chemicals. Choose what another living being would like to eat.

Check for manufacture date, fresh is better.

The duration of expiry is smaller on natural/organic products, hence the interval between manufacture and expiry date is smaller in organic or more natural products.

Avoid food which has undergone more machine processing, choose unrefined, pure products.

Check structure, size and color of vegetables and fruits. Avoid non-natural e.g. too big, different shape or artificial looking fruits and vegetables.

To remove chemicals, pesticides, insecticides from vegetables & fruits: Soak in water for around half or one hour.
For more cleansing from chemicals: Soak in water containing a. tamarind or b. salt  or c. boil in water for few min. This link gives more options of removing pesticides from fruits & vegetables.

So, what's wrong with a Root canal?

Root Canal Treatment is a dental procedure to save a tooth when its root has become infected or inflamed, due to a large cavity etc. During the Root Canal Treatment, the infected tooth is logically killed, by the dentist . The pulp is removed and the tooth is disconnected from nerve and blood supply, to do the RCT. This implies that though the tooth physically remains in the mouth, but it is no longer a living tooth.

Any dead organ from human body should be removed soon, not retained for long.
Have you ever noticed bone of a dead animal? It is attacked by many germs, insects and other animals. The same happens with a dead tooth inside human mouth. It is attacked by several disease causing bacteria and micro-organisms but the immunity mechanism of human body is unable to reach this tooth & fight (as it is no longer a part of the living system). Hence, RCT tooth becomes a bed for growth of germs and infection, right inside the mouth.

Dr. Weston Price, did exhaustive research on this issue of RCT, and published the dangers of Root Canal Treatment. It was concluded that it is even better to extract a really bad tooth, rather than go for RCT, which may become a  cause of other infections or diseases.

Why would dentists go for a RCT then? Dentistry currently, does not have any simple and fast solution to save teeth with deep cavities or infected roots and make the patient comfortable soon. Treating the infection of a root though ideal, may become tedius, slow and difficult process, in most cases. This approach will actually repair the damage and save life of the tooth, if given the patience and consistent effort for required time duration. Extraction is another option to help in case of a very bad tooth infection, but that's not an easily acceptable solution, for obvious reasons. Hence, Root Canal has become so popular as the solution, among dentists. It serves as an easy, short-cut procedure to kill any tooth which complains, provide an early relief to patient and receive good ROI.

Please be aware that most of the teeth which go for RCT, can be saved by following holistic / alternative healing solutions, right diet and healthy lifestyle habits. It will need some patience & bearing ability to give time for healing and practice few habits for protection of teeth regularly, with discipline. Yes, it is possible to cure a tooth of infection or decay, and revive it's health if one has faith in the healing capacity of body. The healing happens naturally, by the body  without any chemicals or side effects, and may take a few months, in most cases.
Natural health care is essential as preventive to safeguard one from further damage to teeth or another scenario of suggested RCT, in future.

In-case one has an existing RCT tooth, it becomes important to take responsibility of cleansing the mouth of any harmful bacteria, which may happen to attack this dead tooth.

Simple tips for healthy teeth

1. After eating anything - rinse your teeth with water, swishing water or gargling & cleaning mouth few times.
While bathing or when you wash your face, fill your mouth with water & swish / gargle, to clean the mouth as well.
When drinking water or liquids, keep it in the mouth, allowing to rinse for few seconds, and then take it in.

2. Once or twice everyday, add a tea-spoon of oil to a cup of lukewarm water and swish in your mouth for around 10-15 min and gargle. Oils like Arimedadhi oil, Coconut oil, Mustard oil, Seasame oil, Olive oil etc. can be used preferably in pure, unrefined, unprocessed form.

3. Do 'Seetkari pranayama' for healthy teeth and gums.
Press teeth against each other and breathe in from the mouth. This will produce a sound like 'sssss..'. Breathe out from nose.
Repeat the process minimum 7 times or for around 2-3 min.

Some Indian families teach kids to practice this exercise while urinating, which is good and makes it easy to add this to routine and repeat a few times, everyday.

4. Massage the gums with your finger using mustard oil regularly. Leave for 2 -3 min and rinse with water.
Add pinch of salt + turmeric with mustard oil & massage teeth and gums, thrice a week serves well, generally.

5. Brush your teeth for couple of minutes, twice a day - after breakfast and after dinner brushing is beneficial. Do an additional check, after brushing for any remains of food particles or plaque and make sure to get rid of the same. Use herbal / natural toothpaste. Preferably, use tree stem (e.g. Neem, Babool, Chirchita) to brush.
Do Not overbrush your teeth (avoid hard brushing for long duration). Brushing once using finger is better, when the cleanliness can be maintained.

6. Chewing is the exercise of the teeth and essential for their health.Chew your food well, until the solid is almost liquid in the mouth.
Avoid eating over-cooked, soft food all the time.

7. Do not subject teeth to very high / low temperature food. Try to eat everything slightly hotter or colder than the room temperature, as possible.
Avoid subjecting teeth to sudden temperature change. Do not take hot/cold food alternatively, one after the other, it is better to give a few minutes break.

8. Protect yourself from chemicals, artificial substances or preservatives etc. Avoid processed & packaged food & drinks.Replace these choices with fresh & natural food options every time, as best possible.

9. Avoid dentistry procedures at all times, unless it is absolutely essential.
If you like to know more, please read this post: https://inaweofnature.blogspot.com/2017/08/so-whats-wrong-with-root-canal.html

10. If one already has teeth decay or a RCT tooth, more discipline & priority is needed for dental hygience & care. For example:
Do oil pulling (Tip 2. above) using a t-spoon of oil (without diluting or heating), swish for 20 min, twice a day.
You may also add one drop of neem oil to this oil pulling solution, once in around a week's time, for couple of months, until the infection subsides. Neem oil has antiseptic, anti fungal properties, which are useful to fight against tooth infection. However, it is also used as a pesticide, hence the quantity and frequency should be kept very low & limited, as essential.

11. Acupressure points exist for tooth and gum  issues. This natural, non-intervention treatment applied on hands/feet can work wel for dental problems too.

Easy ways to lose weight , gain health

1. Say no to packaged foods, market goodies or restaurant dishes. Simplify food and switch to fresh Indian , light and healthy meals every time possible.

2. Remove sugar from diet - take natural sugar from fruits, dry fruits etc. and avoid white sugar every-time possible. If you take tea/coffee, replace sugar with 'saunf', honey or 'jaggery' as an alternative, in the same order of preference. Reduce sweets intake to small quantity and frequency e.g. a small portion taken once a week. Please, check this post too.

3. Chew well, each time you take in food, chew until it becomes liquid in your mouth. When you take in liquids, have them in mouth for few seconds, before gulping, so that the saliva mixes well. The more the food is chewed, good part of digestion is immediately accomplished and the less possible it is to gain weight.

4. Add sufficient fruits, raw vegetables to diet. Have a meal of raw food only, once a day. You may add sprouts, a juice but avoid adding sugar/salt,/grains,/oil to raw-food meals, to keep them light & simple, for digestive process.

5. Do fasting once every 1 or 2 weeks.
One way to do these fasts is:
a. Take juices, fruits and raw vegetable salad during the day and have 1 light, vegetarian meal at the end of day.
b. Another way of fasting is to take only liquids e.g. juices (no tea/coffee/milk/salt/sugar/grains/oil) during the day and in the evening, take a fruit first, followed by a light meal.
c. Intermediate fasting of  around 14 hours daily, for example might work good to control weight at a steady pace. This is preferred by some people.

These are just examples and there can be different ways of planning fasting diet.
One can plan her own variation of fasting, depending on which health benefit she / he is seeking.

6. As a well known fact , add some physical work , yoga, pranayama, walking and sports to schedule regularly, as possible.

7. Carbs and Fats, do increase weight, when taken in excess (more than required for metabolism and  day-to-day processes of body/mind system). Keeping them reduced in diet, is suggested, (for short time-period,) while trying to lose weight.

Reduce sugar, at a comfortable pace

If one can reduce sugar intake - that's a definite way to improve health in multiple ways.

Following suggestions have been seen to work good:

1. Have a dish or drink without sugar, whenever possible e.g. Fruit juices or herbal tea, without sugar

2. If needed please replace with natural sugar - raisins or 'kishmish', fennel seeds or 'saunf', dates, honey etc.
For e.g.  a. If taking porridge add small quantity of organic honey or dates,
b. Use natural 'saunf' instead of sweet mouth freshner.

3. If above are not possible , you may add little jaggery (organic) or 'mishri':
For e.g. while making sweet dish like 'kesari bhath' or 'halwa' (pudding), you may want to add few raisins or dry dates in the mix. For sugary taste, some 'gud' or rock sugar are better instead of regular processed sugar, that we generally use in kitchen.

The idea is to keep checking on better, healthier, more natural possibilities, every time, as possible.

Home made

4. If one still needs to take sugar sometimes - Brown sugar or organic sugar without sulphur are better alternatives to white sugar
e.g. With milk, you may want to add little mishri or organic sugar if needed instead of jaggery.
Avoid white sugar at all times, when possible.

5. Please , avoid sweets from market, to protect your health, whenever possible. You can eat home made sweets, in small quantity.

If on some event or party, you do end-up taking sweets from market or homemade delicacies, please limit the quantity to a piece or two, only.

6. Sweets made with ingredients which contain Carbohydrates, fiber and/or good fat (like 'deshi' ghee or pure, cold-pressed oil), take more time to digest and thus should not cause blood sugar spike, generally. Such Ayurvedic or grannies cooking recipes may be a better choice, as compared to making fast food or just sugary items.
Sweet dishes lacking healthy ingredients like good fat, nourishing Carbs & protein are better avoided.

7. Fruits like Jamun (black plums) , oranges, apples, grapes, pears, strawberries, peaches, lemons have low Glycemic index and Glycemic load values.
E.g. Lemon juice, when consumed along with a food with a high GI, can slow the conversion of starch to sugar, thus lowering the food's GI.

If less sweet fruits with low GL, are consumed along-with or as next meal (after the sweet), they can help to balance, extra sugar intake.

8. Avoid sweets with chemical ingredients: Most manufactured products like cookies, cakes, confectionery candies etc. have chemicals added for taste, color, shelf-life etc. These might have their harmful effect on health, additionally. Please, be careful.

Above suggestions  can help to reduce sugar comfortably and prevent or control Diabetes , while still enjoying tasty dishes, occasionally.

One piece of sweet at a frequency of once in a few days, can be allowed for most people, generally. This helps manage any cravings of taste and may be necessary for mental-emotional satisfaction, too.

Take Charge of Sugar intake 👍

Natural ways to protect your home & family from mosquitoes:

How can I protect my home from mosquitoes?

1. Cleaning: Since many mosquitoes breed in standing water, source reduction can be as simple as emptying water from containers around the home. We can eliminate mosquito breeding grounds at home by removing unused plastic pools, old tires, or buckets; by clearing clogged gutters and repairing leaks around faucets; by regularly (at most every 4 days) changing water in bird baths; and by filling or draining puddles, swampy areas, and tree stumps. Eliminating such mosquito breeding areas can be an extremely effective and permanent way to reduce mosquito populations without resorting to insecticides. E.g. A common mistake is leaving water inside an unused air cooler. Drain it immediately.
2. Keep the windows and Doors shut (during dawn and dusk hours) to prevent the entry of mosquitoes leaving sufficient amount of air to enter the house. Screens can be used.
3. Change bedding if they are near a window as mosquitoes breed from tall trees.
4. Spray salt water in the area around your home
5. Spray mint flavored water around your home
6. Keep slices of lemon with cloves over them in the corners of your doorstep, mosquitoes won’t be seen in the vicinity. This mixture is extremely effective to keep away these insects.
7. ‘Ajwain’ seeds should be combined with mustard oil and applied on cardboard pieces which can be placed in strategic positions in your house to ward off mosquitoes. It also releases a wonderful aroma, unlike the fumes released from coils.

How can I protect myself and family from mosquitoes?
1. Use Mosquito nets while sleeping
2. Wear loose-fitting clothing, which forms an air barrier between you and the bugs, and use only herbal repellent, if required. Prefer, light coloured, full sleeves and pants covering most of your hands and legs.
3. Change, show it some sunlight or shuffle and spread your bedding regularly, especially if they are near a window.
4. Avoid using highly perfumed soaps and shampoos, they may attract mosquitoes.
5. Few other home remedies to keep mosquitoes away:
a. Use Neem Oil As A Mosquito Repellent: Mix Neem Oil with Coconut Oil in a 1:1 ratio and apply it all over your body (exposed parts).
b. Use Lemon oil and Eucalyptus oil: Mix them or apply them as each oil separately on your arms and legs.
c. Camphor: It can be rubbed on your hands as well as made into oil and applied. Light a camphor in a room leaving the doors and windows shut. Enter into mosquito –free environment after half hour.
d. Garlic: Crush a few pods of Garlic and boil them in water. Spray the water around your room. It can also be used on your body if you really want to avoid being bitten despite the smell.
e. Mint: You can use mint leaves and essence in various ways. Mint can be used as a scent by added to a vaporizer. You can apply the oil on your body and plant a shrub outside your window.
f. Lilac Oil and Coconut Oil as a Remedy: Mix these two oils in the ratio 1:1 and apply it all over the body. For about eight hours you will be away from mosquito bites.
g. Lavender as a Remedy: Lavender oil can be used as a room freshener. It can be mixed with skin cream and applied on your skin.
h. Black Pepper Oil as a Remedy: This oil can be applied all over the body unless you are allergic to the smell.
i. Johnson’s baby cream oil: Many people claim that this keeps mosquitoes away.

Green tips for protecting a neighbourhood from mosquito menace naturally

Main Causes for growth of mosquitoes:
1. Standing water serves as a breeding site for mosquitoes. A Frisbee or a plastic bottle cap can hold enough water to support mosquito breeding. This is a major cause for their growing numbers.
2. Lack of cleanliness in the entire surrounding area:
a. In-spite of regular cleaning, if there is garbage collected and kept around, it will lead to growth of mosquitoes.
b. If there are clogged gutters or the drainage system is not robust, it will create an environment, favourable for mosquitoes.

Natural Solutions for preventing mosquito growth in a neighbourhood or housing society:

1. Removing ‘standing water’ and Cleaning the area:
a. Remove all standing water from the neighbourhood:
i. Collection & disposal of standing water, may be required multiple times, every day.
ii. In this regard, if the slopes are improper, then masonry work may be needed to allow water to flow to the drains, automatically.
iii. Water stored for different purposes should be closed properly and the tanks, containers or ponds must be cleaned very regularly.
b. Cleaning the area:
i. Cleaning & disposal of garbage needs to be very frequent to prevent mosquito breeding.
ii. If garbage needs to be kept around, garbage cans and compost bin lids should be fit securely to keep insects away.
c. The drainage system should be maintained well:
i. Regular cleaning of drains, gutters, STP system
ii. Repair of pipes, avoid leakages etc.
d. Keep the swimming pools cleaned and chlorinated even when not in use to avoid it from becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
e. An oil drip can or oil drip barrel is a common and nontoxic anti-mosquito measure. The thin layer of oil on top of the water prevents mosquito breeding
f. Allow corporation or management people to spray chemicals inside your compound and wherever there is stagnant water, once in a while. This is a chemical method of light poisoning. It may kill other insects too and is harmful to some degree to all life including human beings, as well. This can be restored to (at a small frequency, only if required), along with natural processes, in cases where mosquito population is large.

2. Lighting:
a. Usage of LED lights, yellow bug lights, sodium lights are advisable as they are also mosquito- repellent lights. This is to keep mosquitoes away from light as they are easily attracted by light.

3. Plantations:
a. There are few plants which repel mosquitoes. Planting these in sufficient number (as required), in the neighbourhood or garden will be a wonderful, environment friendly method of getting rid of insects, naturally. These are following:
i. Citronella plant
ii. Lemon Balm
iii. Catnip
iv. Marigolds
v. Basil (‘Tulasi’)
vi. Rosemary
vii. Geranium
viii. Mint, Lemon Mint and Peppermint
ix. Garlic
x. Eucalyptus
xi. Clove
xii. Neem tree, Lemon tree
xiii. Lemon grass, Citronella grass

4. Animal predators:
a. Domestic animals which feed on mosquitoes and insects, and should not be killed in the neighbourhood. Few example are cited below:
i. Birds
ii. Fish e.g. Mosquito fish, Frogs
iii. Dragon fly, Ground beetles, Water striders
iv. Lizards, Spiders, Ants etc.
