'Sandhya puja' - proper closure of day

‘Sandhya puja’, lighting a diya between sunset & sunrise is a beautiful way to close each day and begin a new one.

Why to practice?:
This day closure ceremony may give an opportunity to sit with self or together with family members for few minutes , respecting nature and divinity. Children learn good values with such regular practices at home.

As a daily practice, this has huge potential to protect one from sickness that may arise from physical problems and especially any, mental/emotional disturbances, one may be holding within.

Few benefits to list:
• It cleanses the environment
• Relaxes, calms and soothes people
• Helps transition from one day to another with prayer
• Close the day properly e.g. with forgiveness, acceptance and gratitude
• Begin a new day with fresh hope and possibilities, detached from past

How to practice?:
A diya of simple mud pot with cotton thread and any natural oil like mustard oil is required for lighting.
'Puja' room or meditation area is the best space to sit, preferably on floor, in your regular pose of prayer e.g. cross-legged.

Light the diya and sit quietly for a while.
In your mind, you may pray - thank God, analyze your day & close it and prepare yourself for the next day.
Avoid talking or making it a social event, as that may make it shallow and less beneficial.
This works great as a subtle and deep, personal practice.
